Art Programs Available
The South Australia School of Art offers a variety of undergraduate degree programs including Bachelor of Visual Arts and Bachelor of Visual Communication as well as Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) and Bachelor of Visual Communication (Honours). All undergraduate programs are three years, and students are introduced to basic art skills as well as concepts in art and design theory, studio art, and art history.
For postgraduate programs, the School of Art offers research degrees and coursework degrees. The research degrees include Master of Visual Arts by Research, Master of Design by Research, Doctor of Philosophy in Art History and Theory, and Doctor of Philosophy by Major Studio Project. The coursework degrees include Graduate Diploma in Visual Art and Design (Specialization) and Master of Visual Art and Design (Specialization).
In both undergraduate and graduate art courses, students can specialize in Glass, Ceramics, Drawing, New Media Arts, Jewellery and Metal, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture and Installation, Textiles, Art and Design History and Theory, Illustration Design, and Graphic Design.
The School of Art also offers a number of art courses in different art disciplines during summer and winter holidays.
