The Julian Ashton Art School, is a very historic Australian art school in Sydney. Founded in 1890 by Australian artist Julian Ashton, it is Australia's oldest continuous art school.
Today, The Julian Ashton Art School has two locations, the main art school campus; which is conveniently located in The Rocks, opposite The Museum of Contemporary Art, and a second campus is located at a recently refurbished and Historic government property at Georges Heights with spectacular Sydney harbour & ocean views.
The Julian Ashton Art School offers art students full and part time courses in the traditional fine art skills such as: Life Drawing, Oil Painting, Printmaking, Watercolour Painting, Portrait Painting, Landscape Painting and Sculpture/Modelling. All level of art students over 18 years are welcomed, from to beginners to advanced.
The Julian Ashton Art School tutors are exhibiting artists dedicated to providing the perfect balance of individual art tuition that allows students to proceed at their own pace. Diplomas and Certificates are awarded and Scholarships may be competed for by all enrolled students. The Art Scholarships on offer include; the Sir William Dobell, John Olsen, Brett Whiteley and Thea Proctor Scholarships.
