COFA - The College of Fine Arts - Art Courses
At COFA Art Students may take advantage of studies in art and design that combine creativity with the extensive research and teaching resources of the university. A national art school icon, COFA offers the following art education courses to it's art students:
Art Administration - The Art Administration course addresses art curatorship and art exhibition design and management. It also studies art conservation as well as art and law.
Art and Design History - This course addresses the Western tradition in Art, Australian art history, non-Western art history and design history from the Renaissance Art Period.
Art Theory - Cultural theory and media studies, also addressed; postcolonial art theory, critical art theory.
Ceramics - Studio ceramic projects provide for comprehensive learning of ceramic and pottery processes, techniques and methods as well as the exploration and translation of ideas through ceramic arts and associated media.
Digital Media - This cutting edge course studies digital video, digital imaging, digital sound, interactive media, 3D & animation.
Drawing - Drawing at COFA is the common language which supports many disciplines of art study at COFA, Life Drawing is also an important element of fine art study and COFA.
Painting - Painting at COFA is interpreted broadly in terms of media and approach. Students may be encouraged to explore common and new forms of painting that may include, landscape, portraiture, abstract and contemporary forms of painting.
Printmaking - In the Printmaking Studio's at COFA art students can study etching, lithography, relief printing, screen-printing, photomechanical procedures and digital printmaking.
