For centuries the colour could never be imitated by artists and it was said to have magical qualities.

These days some excellent pigments are in this colour range, especially some varieties of cobalt, but the most common ingredients in most tubes labeled turquoise is a simple mixture of Pthalo Blue and Pthalo Green with or without the addition of some white.
