For this reason the genuine pigment has often been replaced by synththetic iron oxides under the names English Red, Venetian Red, Red Oxide and sometimes Light Red. To tell if you have the genuine pigment or not, the natural version is labeled as PR102 and the synthetic is PR101. The natural pigment is also been known to be sold as Red Earth.
